Pakistan amass a competitive total

A pretty impressive batting display from the vulnerable Pakistan side. Hafeez and Jamshed started off well but the main and the game changing partnership came when Hafeez and Jamshed came together and put on 76. New Zealand pulled things back in the end and Southee was exceptionally perfect in the death overs. Pakistan have lost only once after setting a target of more than 150 in T20Is, can they keep history intact?

Pakistan amassed a challenging 177 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs courtesy a splendid half century by Nasir Jamshed who was well aided by the captain Hafeez who contributed with a 38 ball 43.
Hafeez: 'We are happy with the target. We were looking at a score of 160 plus. The ball is not coming onto the bat and the spinners will get some purchase.'
Pakistan will be very pleased with this effort. Hafeez and Nazir got them off to a solid start before Jamshed stepped in and stroked a wonderful fifty. New Zealand pulled things back towards the end but some brisk cameos from Umar Akmal and Afridi helped them reach 177/6. New Zealand will have to bat sensibly if they are to chase this target down.
