New Zealand pick Milne, Pakistan bat

Toss Pakistan chose to bat v New Zealand

Six days into the World Twenty20, Pakistan made their entrance and chose to bat against New Zealand, who began their tournament with a comprehensive win over Bangladesh. Under sunny skies and on a track that could produce some uneven bounce later in the day, Mohammad Hafeez decided to give his inconsistent batting line-up the first go. Pakistan left out Mohammad Sami, Raza Hasan, Abdul Razzaq and Asad Shafiq.

New Zealand are without opener Martin Guptill, who hasn't recovered from his hamstring injury, and he's been replaced by right-arm seamer Adam Milne.

Pakistan have left out Mohammad Sami, Raza Hasan, Abdul Razzaq and Asad Shafiq, while New Zealand bring in Adam Milne in place of Martin Guptill.

New Zealand won their opening match in style defeating Bangladesh by 59 runs.

For the Kiwis, the good news is that their most destructive batsman Brendon McCullum has come all guns blazing with a record knock of 123 runs and has hit

the form at the right time.

However, they will be up against a strong Pakistani team that has a rich World T20 record to boast of.

Former champion Pakistan are far better equipped than their Asian neighbours, and with a formidable bowling line-up that includes the likes of off-spinner

Saeed Ajmal and speedster Umar Gul, they certainly have the necessary fire power to put a tab on the Kiwis.

It promises to be an interesting contest as Pakistan would certainly not desire to go down in the "group of death".

Pakistan: 1 Mohammad Hafeez (capt), 2 Imran Nazir, 3 Nasir Jamshed, 4 Kamran Akmal (wk), 5 Shoaib Malik, 6 Umar Akmal, 7 Shahid Afridi, 8 Yasir Arafat, 9 Sohail Tanvir, 10 Umar Gul, 11 Saeed Ajmal.

New Zealand: 1 Rob Nicol, 2 James Franklin, 3 Brendon McCullum (wk), 4 Ross Taylor (capt), 5 Kane Williamson, 6 Jacob Oram, 7 Daniel Vettori, 8 Nathan McCullum, 9 Tim Southee, 10 Kyle Mills, 11 Adam Milne.
